Generally, adding something works like this:
1) find/build a screen reader that works on windows server 2003
2) test it on ReactOS
3) Submit bugs if there are any

Re: Directx 12 wrapper (DX12 files to run on win7)
I think the devs would rather add the functions to have the OS run the binaries natively, as not a lot of companies will be bothered to re-compile their games. But this is good news, in the sense that windows 7 support is more likely to be build earlier on the current ReactOS than windows 10 support...

Re: Don't make the UI like Windows 10
The nice thing about ReactOS, is that it is scalable from server 2003 upward. So it might get included at some stage, but you should still be able to turn it off and revert to basic server 2003 UI, at least for the foreseeable future.

Re: Alternate translation tool
Update 2 - 27 September 2018 I made some changes in order to accommodate basically all the .rc filenames. You now just need to add the short filename (En.rc, Af.rc, etc.) in the config file. The easiest way to deal with the different filenames was for me to create seperate .awk files. Currently &quo...

Alternate translation tool
I managed to lose all my translated files that I had created, forcing me to start from scratch. Unfortunately I can't host a webserver on this computer due to restrictions, so I can't use the translation tool. So I started building my own tool to make/assist in translations. The tool uses AWK, so yo...

Re: How to submit a translation?
There is still one thing I can't figure out: How do I get the latest updates from reactos:master to write to my fork? Is there a way for the fork to pull the updates automatically?

Re: How to submit a translation?
To properly answer your question: 1. Fork Reactos on github 2. Create a branch in your fork where you commit your changes 3. Create a pull request 4. Wait for merging or do eventually requested changes You should have correctly configured git with your real name and reactos repo as remote. For the ...

How to submit a translation?
I'm sorry if this is covered here somewhere, I just couldn't find a proper explanation. Where/how do I submit a new translation? My Afrikaans translation is complete for most (80-99%) of the system modules and for some of the applications (20-40%), so it is usable, and I would love it if people coul...

Not sure if someone has added it yet, but open source alternative to Visio, yEd seems to work:

Re: (Possible)Afrikaans Translation
Thanks for the replies. I have had the chance to work with system translations on a few occasions at my work, and the thing is that this is not only an issue with Afrikaans. One specific incident was a large international company who wanted almost all of the system default Russian translations re-do...

(Possible)Afrikaans Translation
Hi, I have previously played around with adding some Afrikaans translations, though before I commit myself to it, there was something I was wondering about: For most things technological, we generally use the English terms, as the Afrikaans either A - Does not exist, B - Is overly long and complex, ...

Re: THE HAPPY END! SHELL MERGED!
The back, forward and directory up buttons work now! It's awesome to see all the devs' hard work finally starting to pay off. Just goes to show, this project still has the potential to realize its goals, and is not just a far-fetched dream.

Re: 0.3.17 testing
I just want to make sure, is it just me, or is there an issue with the newer versions not showing the selected icon/folder/shortcut? Testing things like copy/paste is quite difficult now :( I'll start testing the apps in the meantime. *Update* Regarding the bug above, it also makes it extremely hard...

Good to know that everything is still slowly progressing. I'm very eager to see the final results, but rather do it properly than rush anything.

Re: Help me choose a ROS test system
Thanks for all the feedback! I agree that I need to test as many as possible, so I now just need to assemble a few. I'm actually scared of turning nr.6 on, as I wanted to build a 'extremely portable' diy system (until I figured out it cannot natively boot from usb), so it's currently the insides of ...
