Microsoft needs to open its OS to open source bug fixing. MS can maintain the copyright while still allowing for improvements in their OS. This would also solve their problems with the EU as all documentation would be open and code available. Then they should publish it as a $50 retail OEM with only...

Releases are necessary because they give people a sense of progress they other wise would be blind to. In actuality though Ros is released at least once a day! We should name our trunks after the latest release. For example (3.5.1 - 3.5.90). The final release trunk at x.x.90 should be the final buil...

Mono is a working project just as Ros is, give it time and it will develop. As for C# apps. what exactly is it that you want to run so bad as to have need of C# implementations?

Even I've come to terms with the idea of a user controlled web-based application installer.
Its the simplest idea. why force applications on users.
In a way it reminds me of the linux application managers.

Haos yet another wonderful job at misinterpreting my use of language, and then responding with your wonderful rederaic. I will have to take better care to make sure my text be more in tune with your style of understanding. In any case I meant the fact that after any feeling of accomplishment there i...

People submitting final fixes and a greater commitment to contribute prior to a release. I tend to do the same when ever i release something for a project. A break is always good for you

First off DirectX is not a waste of time, I just think it should be placed on hiatius until the kernel is better deffined for its development. I welcome the work being done by Greatlord, the man is a wonderful coder and has placed allot of time and effort into the project. I just wish that he would ...

My hope for this project is very simple, I want to be able to use it! - I want the kernel done and the subsystems working, everything else has a third party counter part. Ex, Ros Explore - bbLean or GAMEOS GE works fine as far as I'm concerned. Dont get me wrong I'd like to see the whole NT system c...

Re: Screen shots

Yeah... why dont you advise Ms to dump DirectX as it is now ("because its a waste"), and use it only for video acceleration... You cannot be serious... I believe I said the project needs MS DirectX working, not that it should only be use for acceleration, thats not even a logical Interpre...

Calm down, I don't believe I said anything critical of the project, all I'm stressing is the fact that with so much still needing to be done that the project needs to stay focused. Is this not true? I can only hope we are all well suited enough to treat each other like grown men.

:? I'd be surprised if 1.0 ever come out, this project doesn't even have a usb stack. Honestly there is room for us to barrow from several other projects and just focus on a gui and NT kernel but instead were recreating much from scratch. Honestly I'd try and produce something useable and work back ...
