LiveCD questions

Hi, I ran the LiveCD on one of my computers and a lot of the graphics didn't seem to load up. Like all of the icons were black shapes. Is this supposed to happen?

a few questions...

Hi, I have a few questions about ReactOS.

First, will I have to reformat my hard-drive to install it? If not, is there a risk my data could be lost?
Second, does directX work on ReactOS?
