Re: Cygwin on ReactOS?

Roger. Tracker item: http://www.reactos.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=7138

I wasn't 100% sure of how to debug, but I got something. We can follow up on bug tracker. Thanks!

Re: Cygwin on ReactOS?

The ISO method seems to work well. Now I have a web browser. It is not so difficult, even convenient way to get packages after reinstall of OS.

Cygwin, however gives BSOD on install "BAD_POOL_CALLER".

Re: Cygwin on ReactOS?

Boy this is killing me. Reactos ftp client can't download from ftp.mozilla.org site. I can navigate to the directory, but not download. (Downloading from releases.mozilla.org is fine.) The site arc.opera.com doesn't support ftp. Is there any way to get file sharing between ReactOS virtualbox and hos...

Re: Cygwin on ReactOS?

Small update.

Opera 9 is not available on ftp server. Tried opera 12.00, and it hangs during install. :(

Mozilla ftp server does not stock old versions either. Tried 13.0.1. BSOD during install. :x

Well, on the bright side, I learned how to update application compatibility database. :)

Re: Cygwin on ReactOS?

The first time you try and open a group, the application manager should download a list of available applications. I'd recommend Firefox 2, or 3.0. Newer versions usually install and run but are less stable and have issues rendering text. The Wine "internet explorer" is not fully implemented yet. T...

Re: Cygwin on ReactOS?

You didn't download a bootcd-xxxxx-rel.7z build did you? Those are currently broken. Download a debug build instead. Aha! Yes, I did. Now I download a bootcd-xxx-dbg.7z, and it installs fine. Thank you for the hint. What is needed to get a web browser to work? I have network access (ping), but wine...

Re: Cygwin on ReactOS?

I didn't know about the updated versions. Thanks for the tip! I am using virtualbox on linux.

During re-install, I finish copying files and reboot. Now it is in an infinite loop "Installing devices". Any ideas?

Cygwin on ReactOS?

Hi, maybe FAQ, but I'm still a newbie, right? :D Is there any hope to get cygwin running on ReactOS? It is a convenient method for getting common tools such as subversion client, etc. I tried to run the setup.exe, but it just "disappears" (crashes) after downloading but before displaying the package...

Re: Web browser?

Wow, I'm really impressed. Posting this from Firefox 13.0.1 on ReactOS right now! Unfortunately lots of rendering glitches. Not sure if this is ReactOS or VirtualBox.

Re: Web browser?

Aha. I tried Firefox 11 and Firefox 3.6, and they don't download.
But now I tried Firefox 3.0 and Firefox 2.0, and both of them download fine.

This is with the virtual box pre-install, not with ISO.

Web browser?

Hi, I installed ReactOS virtualbox client on linux host, and it seems to be working well. My problem is that although I can ping out, I can't seem to get web access. (1) If I type a URL in the ReactOS explorer, it just kinda hangs (2) If I use the package manager to install firefox, it just flashes ...
