Re: Download release to help Reactos.

According to reports the site is engaged in illegal activity mostly warez(pirate material like cracks, keygens, hacked serial numbers etc). I wouldn't be surprised if their money is made illegally. I try to avoid these websites that give out money like this as a lot of the times it's too good to be ...

Re: [Urgent]Community your help is needed[Urgent]

I've noticed this issue with several different releases about a month or two ago then it subsided. I got this new error now saying "Error loading imported dll." http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/n568/DarkSnake-Kobra/reactos.png Version: bootcd-54796-dbg.iso VirtualBox General OS Type: Windows 2003...

Re: Security features

Malware is basically exploiting defects in the implemnted code and sometimes defects in the security mechanism. Our code has been implemented in a different(but compatible way) this means that we dont have exactly the same exploitable defects. In the other hand,as one old joke says:usually the main...

Security features

Out of curiosity what security features are planed(if any) for ReactOS? Since this is primarily being developed to be binary compatible with Windows I'm concerned that Windows malware could potentially be able to affect ReactOS as well.

Re: Password not changing

I see. Nah I just thought it was a bug or minor issue. I was changing my passwords for most of the sites I visit, but I can wait until the new migration. :)

Re: Password not changing

Sorry for the delay I completely forgot about this. :P Still not working. When I enter the new password I get the error

"You have specified an incorrect or inactive username, or an invalid password."

However, when I enter the old password it logs me in.

Password not changing

Having some issues updating my password through the myReactOS page(didn't see the option under Control Panel). After I enter the old and new password, save, logout, delete cookies and log back in the forum it is still using the old password.

Re: Web News Article Mentions ReactOS

I wouldn't pay any attention to that site. Took one look for me to ignore the site all together. Looks like a 7 year old wrote that. Very unprofessional with very poor grammar and inaccurate information. Seems like anyone can write anything.

Error on my part. ;) Although it still would be nice to include it as it seems mostly advanced users use open source OS's and probably benefit from it. :)

Re: Request for testing on real hardware

If you have some CD-RW (usually bundled with your CD/DVD writer), you can use them. It should allow you to do ~1000 tests of different ROS builds per CD. Don't have any of those ether. Well my dad gave me the rest of his so I can try that. Leaving town tomorrow so I'll have to check this out later....

Re: Request for testing on real hardware

I'd like to test ReactOS on a spare computer, but I don't have many cd's left(rather use them for something important). Read that there was a usb version in the works so is there anything available yet or other way to create a usb installer? http://www.reactos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=3625#p72...

Re: Read this if you've found software useful to ReactOS

Didn't see anything already in this topic, but I think including MinGW in the ReactOS installation is a good idea. It replaces the proprietary Microsoft C++ Redistributable with an open source compiler set. Also the bin folder should be set as an Environmental Variable so other programs can find it ...

Re: Which your favorite programming language??

Personally I like C++ and Python. Probably like Python the most as it's just a fun language. :) Started out using VB.NET, but ended up hating the whole .net framework deal and the buggy Visual Studio. Nothing, but problems in my experience. Absolute garbage.

Re: Unable to install VirtualBox

I do have a couple questions though. 1. I installed the x86 Windows Guest Additions, but it doesn't go full screen. How do I get it to go full screen? Or is this not possible yet? 2. Does a pipe log only generate when ReactOS crashes? Or is there a manual way to have it output? Edit: Looks like I ha...
