if i remember correctly, there is no difference beethwen true smp and hyperthread, all seen monolithic cores by the system. minor modifications is needed maybe only for the sheduler, to properly arrange the tasks (do not arrange threads on the same phisical core when you alreday have separate phisic...

you do whatever you want, but you cant use disassembled parts from the original software.
also, usa have some illegitime non-democratic laws for patents, and everything can be patented: wheel, file formats, etc. but thats a different question, and that is not copyright infringement.

wojo664: yeah, quake engines is a bit buggy. btw this stuff meant mostly for casual games, and not for the old AAA ones. However, the old ones also should work. But thats my state trackers issue, not platformspecific.

i had to ask the users, if they want it or not - becouse if too few users, port not worth the work.
but i think the thing have recived enough interest, so i will create a beta build, and the continuation will depend on the reactions.
