Re: Google Summer of Code 2019 Ideas

For the PDB support, I found a github project put there by Microsoft (https://github.com/Microsoft/microsoft-pdb). It seems to be under the MIT license, so it should be usable by the project.

My problems with Thorium...

I think the problem that I have with Thorium (and some of the reasons why I don't contribute my money to it), is that there is already a saturation of cloud services out there on the market. Why should this service be any different (yes, it's open source, but so is GNU/Linux)? Aside from the design ...

Problems using TortoiseSVN

Is anyone having trouble using TortoiseSVN? I'm currently using version 1.8.4 (64-bit), which is the latest version of the program, and right now, it's telling me the following message every time I try to update: Unable to connect to a repository at URL 'svn://svn.reactos.org/reactos/trunk/reactos' ...

Problem with SVN

I'm currently having trouble updating to the latest SVN. It just keeps rejecting me. I even went as far as deleting the entire content and tried to download from scratch because TortoiseSVN hinted to me that it might have had something to do with my cache. But that didn't do anything. The last thing...

Question about "Documents and Settings\<user>" location

Does the "Documents and Settings\<user>" folder have to be in the C:\ drive, or can it be on another drive? I'm guessing that it is, but I just want to make sure before creating a patch for changes that would add both HOMEDRIVE and HOMEPATH to the environment variable list.

Help With Bugzilla

Right now, every time that I try to access Bugzilla, I keep getting a 403 Forbidden message. I do not remember doing anything that would constitute getting banned from the Bugzilla site and I have received no notices (yet) regarding my sudden lack of permission, so I will, for now, assume that it mi...

Re: shutdown utility enhancements

will there be a shutdown utility that looks like xp or 2000? I quickly compared the shutdown utility from Windows 7 with the one found in Windows XP, and from the surface, the only real difference is that Windows 7 has extra options to choose from, and all the options found in XP is also found in 7...

shutdown utility enhancements

http://www.reactos.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=7322 Recently, I have been working on enhancing the shutdown utility so that it works much better. The flags options conforms to what is seen in Windows 7, however, it does not use any of the functions found in Windows Vista/2008 or later. So there sh...

Idea about .NET related libraries

I have been noticing lately that people have been moving opengl specific libraries into a separate folder (/dll/opengl). Although I know for a fact that ReactOS is still in the early stages of development, I wonder if it would be a good idea to do something similar to the .NET specific libraries lik...

Re: MinWin and Ros

At the moment, I do not see the need for ReactOS to be rewriting it's own kernel for something similar to MinWin. Right now, ReactOS already has a minimum memory requirement of 32 MB and seems to work fine even on older computers that cannot support Windows XP.

Re: autorun.inf patch submitted

Thank you. I kept seeing the autorun.inf file and the icon file, and found that they weren't being used for some reason. Now the welcome program should be more useful now when putting in a CD.

autorun.inf patch submitted

Recently, I have submitted a patch that adds both autorun.inf and icon.ico to the root directory of the compiled ISO images. I have tested both the livecd and bootcd and seem to work okay.

Diskpart code update

On my spare time, I have been working on various bits of code for the ReactOS project. One of my more recent efforts have been to rewrite the argument code for the DiskPart utility to make it easier to read and to add/edit/remove flags if needed. In addition, I have made it so that flag detection co...

Re: Oxygen Icon Theme

Like I said before, only a fraction of the icons were replaced, and some of the ones that I did replace aren't showing properly. I had replaced the My Computer icon, but it's still showing the old icon on the desktop. At this point, I don't know if this is due to the fact that a lot of icons in the ...
