Cool, thanks. I might give it a shot on another one of my machines, since I just put some Linux partitions on my main test box (to use GRUB to boot ReactOS) If I try it out I'll let you know how it goes.

Ohhh... that makes much more sense! I found a workaround (I don't have a win98 disk on hand right now), using GRUB. If I install Linux on the machine and leave the first partition for ReactOS I can boot it via grub (a la the wiki). A lot of effort though. So if I erase the MBR, then it will attempt ...

Hmm, I did some digging, and realized that ReactOS doesn't use GRUB. Why then is GRUB still present (from the old Linux installation) on my MBR? Any ideas on what could make ReactOS not actually install freeloader?

I have a box I thought I'd try out ReactOS on. I do a straight click through install, using teh whole disk for the OS. I allow the bootloader to be installed to the MBR (as there's nothing else on this machine). On boot, I get an error 17 (can't boot from the selected partition) from GRUB. This happ...
