Re: The Future of Wine and Windows XP mode

The main point of ReactOS (read the F.A.Q) is for peoples that are frustrated of Microsoft policies, so ReactOS is there, open-source OS, reliable, free, remember that ROS is an operating system (compatible with EVERY Windows application), not an emulator.

Re: The Linux Unified Kernel

It seems that rather than just making a close NT-like kernel ReactOS has to make a near perfect one using a lot of reverse engineering . That looks like a lot of work and after 13 years it's still just alpha. Linux took about 4 years to become mature what's ReactOS doing wrong here? Reverse enginee...

Re: Reactos 0.3.13 is a big improvement...

Aslo, there are lot of implemented function but has little missing functionnality (which has even NO fixme), an example is that NtTerminateProcess doesn't check the PROCESS_TERMINATE access right (a way to check access rights is to use ObCheckObjectAccess, before ntoskrnl/include/internal/ob.h must ...

Re: Read this if you've found software useful to ReactOS

I was ready to talk about a program, but it's a 16-bits program in Pascal, GPL License version 2, It's called Calmira, a clone of the Windows 95/98/ME's shell, I tested it on Windows 3.11, it's like Windows NT and Calmira XP is a clone of the Windows XP/2003's shell, I know that it would be reject b...

Re: Win32 server idea

That's better disassembling Windows instead of looking directly to Windows source code, if you look directly that's like cheating in an test, and disassembling is legal, and the Windows source code might be very different from ReactOS source code so don't try looking at the code :geek:

Re: Win32 server idea

I used to believe that reverse engineering Windows was a inherently difficult and fruitless effort since you'll alway be playing catchup. (Mostly because Wine 1.0 took 15 years to develop) But after reading the history of GNU, I feel there is some hope. Yeah, but there are Windows NT/2000 source co...

Hello, it seems that remote control software is unsupported, I tried TightVNC, TeamViewer and Ammyy Admin v2.13 without any success, for TightVNC, the installation works, but not the server, TeamViewer's installation work and I can run the software successfuly, but when me (my host) connect to React...
