Re: Application installer aborts due to Windows version WinXP; fix possible?
Have no sympathy. They made a decision and it was a short-sighted one. Unless what you are coding really needs an NT6 API then there is often an alternative. What makes Vista + such good oses are those underpinnings in the form of all those NT5 APIs. In my own software I have already discounted the ...

Re: Application installer aborts due to Windows version WinXP; fix possible?
I suppose it could be that the developers of that particular tool were just a little dum and didn't want the hassle of supporting XP, however, it is a strange thing to do. A lot of these restrictions have been found to be arbitrary and artificial and are often overcome by a little testing and analys...

Re: Application installer aborts due to Windows version WinXP; fix possible?
When ReactOS reaches or nears 1.0 release, or possibly even during Alpha, those NT6 APIs will start to be introduced as developers feel like coding them. If a program uses one of those and it has been implemented, then that program will have a better chance of starting to work. If you can find out w...

Re: Application installer aborts due to Windows version WinXP; fix possible?
Well, not at the moment. I imagine your utility uses NT6 APIs that have not been implemented in ReactOS as it is not yet NT6 based. I can see no other reason why such a message would pop up and your program not run. The devs would not care whether their program ran on XP or not, only whether it woul...

Yes, don't do that. Read the WIKI FAQ from top to bottom and follow the instructions and the warnings, PM sent.

Re: 65 specific reasons for wanting ReactOS:
I suppose this would need to be re-worded. We can't guarantee no backdoors but the code is open for peer review which should reduce the possibility of back doors. I suppose it should/could also result in quicker fixes? I think we have this one, number 32. https://reactos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1...

Very impressive, indeed as it proves the MM changes are really beneficial and working. We just need our own NTFS now!

Re: ReactOS on HP mini 110c-1000
Again you just don't understand. If ReactOS was in the state Fedora was in it would be almost certainly well into Beta.
I am not going to bother to respond anymore, if you aren't going to listen nor try to open your brain.

Re: Modern Windows Apps Are Ugly!
Well, jdynqq, if you are real and not a bot you can use a tool such as John's background switcher to change the background at any time.Whether that actually works on ReactOS is another thing entirely, you'd need to test. If you are looking for a more live experience than that, then do let us know wh...

Re: ReactOS on HP mini 110c-1000
LMH1 I am beginning to realise that you don't know what you are talking about. If you can't be bothered to investigate for yourself and find out the difference between alpha and beta software and due to this don't understand the implications of running Alpha s/w, then you aren't worth giving support...

The building is done automatically, incorporating recent changes. It will break things and it will fix things. It will be unstable, bear that in mind. Lower your expectations accordingly.

Re: Running ReactOS explorer.exe on Windows 7 64bit
Probably, others aren't doing what you are doing so in general we are likely to have no experience. ReactOS explorer is not designed to work on Windows 7 (NT6) 64bit.
