Re: How far have you gotten with ReactOS?
Obviously you expect too much. Nah, I expect just enough. I think a thread like this may turn up more hardware that's not on those lists and people like to have a place to say," Look here is what I have done", It's human nature. Such a thread could be a good measuring stick. As ROS grows ...

Re: How far have you gotten with ReactOS?
Er... Yeah.. I know about those lists.. that's what I refer to.. If anyone has used those lists to put together a system where everything works, and what is their experience with the OS. In other words I wanna hear: " I am Joe and I used X Motherboard. X Sound card, X Video card etc and my expe...

How far have you gotten with ReactOS?
I am just curious. Of course I know ReactOS is in alpha but for those of you who have found all the compatible hardware and drivers I want to know how far you've gotten with your setup. (real hardware) Is there anyone who has been able to get everything working, sound, video and internet? If so, wha...

Re: Install ReactOS to memory stick?
This might be possible. You can install GRUB to a USB key, and you could use it to boot ReactOS. Have you tried this? I'm not a Linux user so not familiar with Grub (or Wine for that matter except what I read) but grub is the bootloader Linux uses.. is this correct? Interesting idea. Anything to he...

Re: Who is using Reactos all day ?
Some people may keep a dedicated system running with ReactOS for testing purposes and the understanding that it is in Alpha. I hope to be able to do this soon. I have lots of older apps and games I wish to test. In theory if all you did was search the net and play movies and perhaps email with your ...

Re: Having problems running React OS
So - congratulations, You've installed successfully ! As it turns out, congratulations are a bit premature LOL I installed an ethernet driver that looked like it installed properly as far as Device Manager goes.. but I had no network connections. I thought to remove the driver and try again, instal...

Re: Get a free computer to run ReactOS on. Here's How!
I can see some one might be arrested for going through a dumpster but I do not see any reason to shoot some one for doing so. Yeah.. I wouldn't shoot anyone over it but you never know about folks these days. I just had to add that cus I didn't want some Joe to think 'Dude, I'm getting a Dell' and i...

I see.. so that's why the serial cable is used.hto wrote:Choose "ReactOS (Log file)" when booting, and it will create a file "C:\ReactOS\debug.log". Unfortunately, if the kernel crashes, it cannot write its last and most important error messages to a file.
Thanks.

Re: What is my PCI Memory driver & No Internet
I see. So what I will try is I will get my motherboard drivers transferred over and let the hardware wizard search for the driver it wants from there.. and see if it finds one it will use.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Is there a Troubleshooting Guide
I could do it if I could coordinate with someone to help me get past some of the technical jargon in Bugzilla. It's not about understanding the definitions of the words, but about understanding the underlying concept those words represent. As you see from my examples above, they are simple and strai...

Re: Is there a Troubleshooting Guide
How about an unofficial troubleshooting guide maintained by the users? This would be as simple as the examples I have posted above. At least it could be a central place to pool user knowledge. Bugzilla is o.k. if you can speak the language. A lot of info in bugzilla is made of heavy technical jargon...

What is my PCI Memory driver & No Internet
When ReactOS starts up, one of the devices that were not installed due to lack of drivers is " PCI Memory". I have a couple of pci cards that I think may not work properly if the memory for the card don't work? If I knew exactly what this refers to, I could use something like Everest syste...

Is there a Troubleshooting Guide
Is there a Troubleshooting guide, Or a troubleshooting thread? I notice some problems have seemingly common resolutions. Like other posts, I had to search for, a common problem (Examples) With the installed OS on a hard drive that would freeze up at the "ReactOS for Workgroups" splash scre...
