Re: 0.3.13 -- VirtualBox -- USB

So, download the debug version and install it.
I did that from your link, and I appreciate your providing it.

I'm delighted to report that both my USB keyboard and mouse are working perfectly in ReactOS.

As time permits, I'll be testing more features of this exciting project.

Re: 0.3.13 -- VirtualBox -- USB

you could try downloading one of the latest revisions from getbuilds and see if it works, if you still have problems you'd need to grab the debuglog to see why it's failing (follow my signature for instructions). Glad to do it. It's interesting that the most recent SVN item, 51684, there is called ...

Re: 0.3.13 -- VirtualBox -- USB

I assume you are talking about your HOST mouse and keyboard. If so, it doesnt mind, since VirtualBox takes those as PS/2 devices. So problem should be somewhere else..... Yes, I'm talking about the real mouse and keyboard. Thanks for the information that it's probably not a USB problem. OTOH, since...

Re: 0.3.13 -- VirtualBox -- USB

The new oracle ones have it too
Thank you. Yes, I just installed the Oracle 4.x version, and the USB option is there. Regretfully, with it disabled or enabled, I don't have USB mouse control in 0.3.13. I don't think I have USB keyboard input, either.

Re: 0.3.13 -- VirtualBox -- USB

Click on the VM, then at the right side there is a tab called "Details" and several options: "general","system","Display","Storage","Sound"..."USB" and "Shared folders" Select USB and then a new window will popup:Just &...

Re: 0.3.13 -- VirtualBox -- USB

You should fully disable USB in vbox right now ^^
I can't find any way to do that in the Settings.

0.3.13 -- VirtualBox -- USB

Should I have USB support in the ReactOS 0.3.13 I have running in VirtualBox? Both my keyboard and mouse are USB, and neither of them seem to be working.

ReactOS booted completely, it seemed. I just had no way to do any input.

Shared Folders or USB Service in 0.3.12?

I just installed ReactOS 0.3.12 from the CD .iso. I installed it as a guest OS in VirtualBox running in Linux. It seems a lot more stable than 0.3.11, and I'm greatly encouraged about the OS's future. I would like to try installing some of the Windows programs I have to use, but I don't seem to have...

Re: Latest Arwinss ISO's

OK, I found a plugin to add to File Roller and I got it unzipped... I mean, un7zed.

I tried to install it in VirtualBox directly from the .iso (no CD burned), but VB hung with the little window that says "ReactOS: Spawning session."

Re: Latest Arwinss ISO's

What's wrong with .zip? I'm running Ubuntu Linux and don't have that .7z archive protocol installed. I hope I can find it.

Re: Fresh Installation

If your HDD is IDE:

Open the iso and rename uniata.sys to atapi.sys and the atapi.sys to uniata.sys
Burn the modified Iso
And retry
Maybe that's why it didn't work "wonderfully" with my IDE drive. :)

Re: Fresh Installation

I don't think it can be installed on the hard drive. I and others have failed. I have been able to get it going in VirtualBox, however.

Re: ReactOS on my desktop..?

I had another thought: could I copy the entire installation from the VirtualBox guest to the hard drive partition and then boot that with an entry in my Linux grub.cfg?

It seems feasible until I remembered that shared folders are not yet supported in ReactOS/VirtualBox. Too bad.

Re: ReactOS on my desktop..?

Although I've successfully installed ReactOS in VirtualBox running in Linux, I didn't get very far installing it in its own partition. I have a somewhat similar system to yours, but with some possibly important differences: No-name motherboard with nVidia GeForce6100PM-M2 chipset (audio, graphics, e...

Re: Make VirtualBox compatibility a top priority

I guess the differences in systems is producing some different results. With the VBox version of ReactOS, the GA executables were in drive D: in My Computer, and I successfully installed GA from there. In the .iso version I've installed in VBox, the D: drive is empty. The Gecko download went OK for ...
