Re: The new Explorer

I just updated the buglog: http://reactos.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=4709

Because I found out, if you rightclick on the bar when the mouse cursor is in resize state (edge of the bar) it actually works and displays the context menu (which is also working).

Re: The new Explorer

OK, posted on bugzilla: http://www.reactos.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=4709 But the name GedMurphy was unknown. And yes, at least on VirtualBox 3.0.2 with latest trunk, I could hear sound. I used the driver from Download! and the ROS sound player and played the ROS startup sound - it worked very we...

Re: The new Explorer

Oh, how to edit posts? What I forgot: Alt+F4 removes the desktop icons (but not the taskbar) when explorer_new is used. Didn't tried that on Vista, only on VIrtualBox with ROS.

Re: The new Explorer

I just started the explorer_new.exe on Vista: It runs now, Start Menu is working. Looks a lot better than the old explorer.exe. Several things are not working (at least on Vista), for example the Search and the Control Panel is disabled. I can't open the clock settings. And in the taskbar settings w...

Re: The new Explorer

On the latest ROS trunk build, I renamed explorer.exe to explorer_old.exe and explorer_new to explorer. It starts now, displaying the task bar. But I can't open the actual explorer windows. Also, taskbar does not react. Only context menu displays on rightclick, but nothing happen by clicking on it.

Re: Who is this "Arch"?

Thanks. But why do people say he's doing bad code commits (or even deletions) then?

Who is this "Arch"?

Hi,

in the commit logs I often read somethign about someone/something named "Arch" or "Arch Blackman" - and the comments are rather negative. Who or what is it? I did not found out about him/it by googling.

Re: The new Explorer

Yeah, exactly that'S the point. If it doesn't work in Windows, it's never work in ROS.
If it would work in ROS, but not on Windows, then ROS would be using strange workarounds that do things that shouldn't be done.

explorer_new.exe is far from being ready-to-use.

Re: The new Explorer

I can not get it to work on Vista SP2 and on ROS. Just nothing happens, like greenie said.

explorer_new.exe

Hi,

where can I find information and especially commit logs/changelogs about the explorer_new.exe? I'm really looking forward to see the new one.
The current one is really messy in most cases, especially while browsing through files and folders...

Thank you.

Question

Hi, I'm always reading the ReactOS CIA commit log. It's pretty good for seeing the latest changes. But sometimes there are commit summaries like "sync something with wine 1.1.24". I know what Wine is and that ReactOS works close together with it, but what exactly are these "syncronisations"? Do you ...

VirtualBox 2.2.2+ and ROS 0.3.9+ setup hangs

Hi, when I try to install ROS 0.3.9 or trunk on VB 2.2.2 or later, it just hangs on the mittle of the setup process (around 40 to 60 percent of file copy progress). It's not always on the exact same point. On 2.2.2 with a random trunk I even got it installed once, but it then crached on starting. Bu...
