Re: ReactOS, Sourceforge's June 2013 Project of the Month

Looks like the news about ReactOS is beginning to spread I just received this email at work Dear Developer Channel Member, ReactOS is an open source project that looks to create a Windows NT based operating system which will allow various applications and drivers to be compatible with this updated O...

Re: Another logo idea

Very clean and modern looking, since Valve's logo is a mechanical linkage and this is more molecular there seems very little similarity to me.

Re: WEB-RAPPS suggestion

I'm a c/c++ coder but I've always used libraries like wxWidgets to create GUIs, I never learnt the basic WIN32 way. I plan on doing one myself, but it probably won't be for another 6-12 months. Also, it probably wouldn't be included by default with ReactOS (I only program with php ). Sounds interest...

Re: WEB-RAPPS suggestion

I would like to see RAPPS somehow linked with the compatibility database perhaps showing a star rating next to it to display how well an application works with the current version of ROS,plus someway for users to easily feed information back into the database from their desktop. To allow easier test...

Re: Baldur's Gate remade!

That is good news, I love the game as it has one of the best story lines for an RPG a modern edition would be welcome, although using it with tutu is already a big improvement.

Re: Micro Mart magazine features Reactos

MicroMart is a great magazine one of very few to continue to write about older hardware such as the Amiga. Their articles are often very supportive of Open Source projects and I wouldn't be surprised if they give you permission to host the article.

Re: ReactOS´s windows suggestion

Despiting I'm against plainly removing it like the OP suggested, I'm all for versatility. If they add a GUI tool to set how they want the title bar to behave, I'll second that, provided the default config is the actual de facto default from nowadays. The same way Esperanto was added to the language...

Nice to have more than one way to do things, what one users grasps intuitively another doesn't.

Re: about Microsoft (Office) GUI evolution

I personally like the idea of the ribbon interface, but dislike the way it was suddenly foisted on users with no option to revert to the older style menus. The upgrade at work caused total confusion as people who had been forced into one way of working by Microsoft sudden had to cope with a totally ...

Re: Lotus Symphony is dead - OpenOffice is the replacement.

Agree with the others, but didn't LibreOffice replace OpenOffice anyway? They forked when it was owned by Oracle due to difference of opinion. Now that Oracle have handed over its development it will be interesting to see how the two different project continue or if they will eventually merge again.

Re: Partnership with german universities?!

The professor made clear that he does not see really any field of application for ReactOS, in particular, the NT technology is not exactly ground-breaking and new, it is already used, on the contrary, by millions around the world - making it a bad research topic. As to Bell's talking telegraph, it ...

If the hard drive light s still running has it actually hung? There is a long long pause while mshtml.dll sits on the screen and the OS does all sorts in the background.

Re: Promoting 0.3.14

It's a pretty good saying Vic, it should be another not other and adding have makes it slightly better grammatically but apart from that perfect Each time I discover my own ideas in another's mouth, I have found an ally in another's brain It is the sort of saying a great statesman would be remembere...
