Load/save first. This will provide a better taste of "actually usable" app.

Re: Clinging to Windows Classic

Oh please. I was NEVER talking about whether ReactOS should or could keep classic theme. Of course ReactOS can keep the classic theme forever. I was talking about whether ReactOS should implement a Win7 alike taskbar or a more classic one like Win2k or a mix of them. I did not mix things up. I am ta...

Re: Clinging to Windows Classic

You haven't understood or read my post Should I reply the same to you? I am not speaking of start search box in Vista, my "incompatibility issue" is about the new taskbar in the oncoming NT 6.1. That's not a feature you can just add. Just like you can't add a Win95 taskbar into Win3.1 and still loo...

Re: Clinging to Windows Classic

Calculator on start search box is good, but web search is not that good IMO. But the dock-like taskbar in Win7 is a bigger concern. There will be no classic taskbar in Win7 anymore. After 5-6 years, What ROS1.0 will face is a large group of users who has grown accustomed to that new taskbar. Today's...

Re: Clinging to Windows Classic

Following this thread, I found this issue is less about UI look but more about UI structure/behaviour. While Windows Classic look of Win2k era is nicer to most developers here, Windows is changing. When ReactOS finally goes stable years after, the majority of user base will be a mix of XP / Vista / ...

Re: Minimize All Windows

Black_Fox wrote:Show desktop and Minimize all windows are two separate things in Windows. The first one is made using Win+D and the second one using Win+M. There usually aren't any visible differences.
Their difference is: one hide dialogs and the other one won't. Press Win+R first, try both and you will see.

Never mind. I never see a split of Chinese trad/simp of the website is in any level important at this moment. There isn't a big enough community of Chinese care ReactOS, let alone the website. The split can be done much much later. It's okay to wait till there are big enough groups of people for bot...

Chinese Trad/Simp Split

Has it been properly implemented? the pull down list on the home page is updated but not functioning correctly. The pull down is not updated on other pages. In roscms, Chinese(simplified) inherited Chinese but Chinese(traditional) is empty. (My translation in "zh" home page is Chinese traditional) A...

I thought the section Search & Find in page " Newbies " are for the main site, not the CMS. I am referring to the search text box on the main site, not the search text box inside the CMS. - Search & Find The ReactOS website has a powerful search function inbuild, you can find it in the menubar on th...

Where am I supposed to see the search result? I see nothing changed as long as I haven't pressed the "Go" button. It's the same in Fx2 and IE6.

Search text box

On page Resources for Newbies , bullet Search & Find, I come across a line: "Type the search term in the search box and it starts returning results before you finish typing." Well, it seems not worked as it said. I typed words onto the search text box and ... nothing happened. I wondered for a while...

Yes, they localize technical terms in different wordings. For another example, "default" was translated as 預設(preset) in Taiwan (and HK follow suit); however, it was translated as 默认(acquiesce) in mainland. Two groups of people and two sets of culture. And no, "simplified Chinese" aren't much easier...

I can check grammatic correctness but not the "correctness" of individual terms as long as I haven't got a copy of simplified Chinese Windows. Take an example, (from my memory) "File" & "Help" on the menu bar are translated 文件 & 帮助 in simp. Chinese Windows, while they are translated as 檔案 & 說明 in tr...

Should the above be counted as spam and/or advertisement? BTW, some update of the situation of Chinese translation: I am now the maintainer of webpage Chinese translation, and is trying to push the Chinese version of the site back up to date. For the translation of the very OS as asked by hto, this ...
