Re: Element Software partnership?

Simply because there are no patches from ES, out there.
This is my first post on this thread:

So I have the same opinion as you.

I just like asking questions that have no answer at all. ;)

Re: KDE on ReactOS project

EDIT: Fails under ROS 0.3.10 but runs on recent trunk builds! Good to know! Can I ask you if some applications start without crashing (working reliably is unlikely in Windows too, so I don't expect ReactOS to do any better)? Look at the screenshots in the previous page of this thread to know which ...

Re: KDE on ReactOS project

It's some time that I don't try KDE on ReactOS, however I think that, following my own experience with the KDE Installer on ReactOS and Davy Bartoloni reports, the steps involved should be something like this. start the KDE for Windows Installer on either Windows or Linux + Wine; select the option &...

Re: Element Software partnership?

In my spare time (that is , when I get time.) I will try to contribute further to the ReactOS and submit much better patches than the ones I have already done. I think nobody will get offended if you post "not better patches" just now. The worst thing that can happen is that they get igno...

Re: Element Software partnership?

I DID NOT REFUSE to post patches back to ReactOS, in time, if the project still continued, As soon as the binary release went online, the patches would have been provided. These patches were merely workarounds to get objects in the explorer to display properly. We also did some minor patch to some ...

Re: Element Software partnership?

patternjake was very kind of informing us that he was using ReactOS when it wasn't mandatory We also (kindly) asked for any proof of what he was (pretending to be) working on was for real. He was talking about unbelivable features that aren't practically feasibile in a short time even by big team o...

Re: Element Software partnership?

This one deserves the "Thread full of nothing - 2009" award! Just out of curiosity (that's a poll, nothing more): is there still someone who believes that pattenjake wrote the softwares he talked about? Not a single line of code has been released, except a raw copy (I actually mean a...

Re: Element Software partnership?

We feel that this is nessecary since licensing constraints in ReactOS will not allow us to distrubute ElementOS FIle Digger and related components, which, are closed source, on the open source ReactOS operating system. This is too vague to pretend someone believes you. These issues get ironed out b...

Re: KDE on ReactOS project

Those are the typical KDE issues ;) at least they arent ROS related :) Those are the disadvantages of being (if I remeber correctly) the biggest open source project just after the Linux Kernel and having an unprecedented range of features in it. On the other hand Windows packages dependencies are n...

Re: Element Software partnership?

Re: Element Software partnership?

ElementKit uses the same base of Mozilla 1.5
Then, technically speaking, I can't see the point of building upon a 2003 software:
