Re: Layers

To be honest, as long as it works, security can be added to any data base. They may come up with some sort of automatic encryption or something. Is React OS going to start using SQL if Microsoft do? If so, how many changes will be needed to be made? Considering the fact that they have an army of pro...

Re: Layers

OK, but I I know someone that work in Microsoft, and it looks like a whole new rebuild.

The question remains, is React OS going to stay compatible, and if so, is all the work being done now a waste of time?

Re: Helping Out

Your obviously an idiot. Do you know what React OS is actually aiming for? A compatible, light weight, easy to use operating system which is open source, free, and works in perfect syncrynisation with windows. If you are going to post, please at least check your facts before posting, as it does save...

Re: USB Boot

Agreed, but as this project is open source, you have accsess to any information you want anyway.

I think not so long ago, I actually saw somebody create a USB boot on React OS, which seemed to work fine. I'll dig around, and try to find it.

Re: USB Boot

Hi, You lot need to stop argueing, this is not what this forum is for. If you want to have an arguement, it is appreciated if you take it else where. On the front of USB boot, React OS can be adapted for USB boot. This requires that you have a usb boot compatible mother board. All you have to do is ...

Re: Helping Out

Thanks,

I will have to install firefox though. The browser I user is 'Microsoft Internet Browser'.

Which reminds me, does anyone know what the plan of action is on a React OS web Browser?

Re: Helping Out

Thanks.

I seem to be having trouble with connecting to the IRC channel, and it just comes up with the dreaded message "Page cannot be displayed".

Is there a program used to connect to the IRC program, as it fails connecting to the channel.

Re: Helping Out

Ryan, I appreciate the help, but if you don't have anything else smart to say, please don't say anything at all. If your not interested in helping create React OS, then please leave this site. Everybody here is in the interest of creating the React OS system, however they can. You havn't even introd...

Helping Out

I am still reasonably new here, and I have been woundering what needs to be done to help create React OS? Are there any applications, like a defraging tool, or something, that needs to be made. Not only this, what is uded to compile the source code? Do you use Windows, Linux, ect? Any help is apprec...

Re: Windows 'MinWin' and Windows 8

To be honest, I think that React OS will one day, not so far from now, support most, if not all Processors. It may not take full advantage, but if people write programs for Windows to take full advantage of the processor, than sureley this will work for React OS. On the subject of getting rid of app...

Re: React OS Problem

I couldnt help but notice that the React OS screen shot shows a windows directory being used!?!? Is this beacuse the person is using the Windows features inside React OS, or just stuck React OS into a Windows Directory? http://dreimer.dr.funpic.org/sblog/upload/linospreactos038ipconfi.jpg Either way...
