Can ReactOS benefit from Gallium3ds support for directX11?
Hi, As written here Gallium3d (a linux graphics driver framework) now somewhat supports Direct X 10/11. This is not the usual OpenGL wrapper-stuff, but real native DirectX support. Could ReactOS (or the sometimes mentioned ReactX) at some point could benefit from this, or is this too bound to the Li...

Re: ReactOS for ARM
I just had a thought... I've noticed that Qemu support linux-user-space-emulation, meaning that you on a linux-ppc can run a linux-x86-bin by emulating user-space, and use the native linux-ppc-kernel for kernel space operations, which gives some performance advantages compared to a full system emula...

Re: German Wikipedia release dates
It might once have been the plan, but not anymore. If we're very lucky, we'll see 0.4 in 2007...Setjhaba wrote:German Wikipedia states ReactOS 0.5 is planned to be released in August 2007. Is this correct?

Just a side note, it is NEVER impossible to compile to different platforms, ever. It just isnt. This is a C++ program, and there are free ARM compilers like DevKitARM(GNU compilers and stuff for arm things) If all the code was C/C++ you would be correct, but as it happens, there are some rather nas...

Re: OpenSource contra commercial interests.
... I have hosted SVG-files on ros-webserver too, but I havn't seen any really amazing SVG-movies in my life, only static information or maybe some moving content but nothing really impressive. SVG can be used for similar stuff as flash, it's just not so widespread... Here's a sample of a simple ga...

There is currently no free (as in free speech) and working Flash Player around (Gnash is in alpha stage). By spreading flash movies, you force people to use non-free software and thus you take away their freedom. Actually, spreading flash movies would mean to betray everything free software enthusi...

If you want a newer and better version of that opensource flash player go to http://gplflash.sf.net . There is also a new version in the making (check out the projects CVS) called gplflash2 which will (eventually) be able to decode flash7 files. It should be protable to windows/ROS since the code is...
