Re: SCSI hard drives

Also, I did see this post. If this is still pretty much the state of things I suppose I have my answer. Its kind of a shame if that's the case, though. Still interested to hear if there is a glimmer of hope, though.

SCSI hard drives

So as I am stumbling to find any particularly clear answer on this, if the appropriate SCSI controller drivers are slipstreamed into the bootcd ISO (as I have done), is ReactOS capable of using them in its current state to access and boot itself from a SCSI hard drive? I haven't had an opportunity t...

Re: Slipstreaming: Including drivers

I must have skipped over this the last 200 times I scanned through this article, but for future reference I am quoting the relevant section from this MSDN article. The CatalogFile directive in the INF Version section of the driver's INF file specifies the name of the catalog file for the driver pack...

Re: Slipstreaming: Including drivers

I suppose I should have noted that I know of this distinction. :) I'm just concerned if there would be any negative ramifications for placing catalog files where I suggested. I was going to use the driver on real hardware and wanted to avoid wasting CD's testing different locations. I'm going to try...

Slipstreaming: Including drivers

Hi all. I am building ReactOS, and I'd like to include a handful of drivers which will (maybe, hopefully) auto-install when ReactOS installs. I followed the guide here , and so far it has been fairly straightforward...until I noticed the driver has a catalog file with it. It is my understanding that...

Re: Teamviewer

6163 was filed a while ago for this issue. Depending on the severity of the issue it might not be fixed for some time. However, if you're up to the task you could help by submitting debug logs for the developers to look over and continue to test it. This may help see at least this particular issue ...

Re: Cannot build ISO from USB branch.

Thank you for that, FlyingIsFun. I built an image of the same revision as that and at least on QEMU it installs and gets to the desktop now. Not so on VBox. Some kind of failure while checking for USB devices it seems during the first stage of installation (same as it did on actual hardware). Ended ...

Re: Cannot build ISO from USB branch.

@FlyingIsFun1217 After getting a chance to test the image (in QEMU), I experienced the same issue you did with the livecd image when trying to boot. I even built another image using r55370, and came across the same result. Using VBox I got the same issues with the newly created boot partition not be...

Re: PCI Bus Issues (I think)

I should also add (to avoid confusion) that my primary hard drive is not what ReactOS was being installed on. It wasn't attached the first time around (just the 60GB one was), and even attached it doesn't seem to change anything.

Re: PCI Bus Issues (I think)

I checked the settings, and oddly enough my motherboard already was defaulted to "Native IDE" mode instead of straight up AHCI. Perhaps this is related to my IDE hard drive which I have attached via a SATA-to-IDE bridge, but I can't be sure. I changed it to "Legacy IDE" mode, which didn't even allow...

Re: Cannot build ISO from USB branch.

Following (verbatim) the build instructions from the ReactOS wiki, I was able to get a bootcd iso without such errors using CMake. Chances are it could be a recent commit broke something that causes rbuild to not work correctly. My environment. -Windows 7 Professional x64 -RosBE 1.5.1.1 -CMake 2.8.7...

PCI Bus Issues (I think)

Hello everyone. :) So I've been keeping an eye on the commits the past few months, and wanted to give ReactOS a try on some real hardware. I had a 60GB SATA hard drive laying around, so I threw that in my main machine and attempted an install. It all went smooth through the first stage, but in the s...

Re: ReactOS 0.3.11 and end of October...

Sorry for double posting but I felt the need to add that all I'm really doing is generalizing what everyone is trying to say. I think people need this in big, shiny letters somewhere easy to access so they stop asking. :D
