My thoughts: Good idea, However: Wouldnt this be better handled by filesystems themselves? Im thinking, right now we have HKCR\.ext, and under .ext we could place a optional mime-type key Also, a reverse lookup table, like HKCR\mime\text\plain for example, would then have the same stuff as HKCR\.ext...

A 64-Bit OS CANNOT run 16-Bit apps.

Its a chip limitation - Not a OS.

You CAN run 16-Bit apps in a 32-Bit or 16-Bit OS however.

It would have to be compiled out of the 64-Bit version

It doesnt support AMD 64s, and running it on a CPU over 2ghz means it loops arround to 0mhz again :P And I know that older Intel processors out preformed AMDs - But this was more of a point where they became viable for desktop use. Today I would happily accept an AMD Opteron server however. and i de...

Yes, without reading it all theres the loophole. Considering I write EULAs regularly (Both open source and closed source) I should be able to interpret it well - But im no lawyer! If were going to include Mono, it should be an installable/uninstallable subsystem for when the .net framework from MS i...

Porting it to Intal 64 (Itanium) is a waste of time - Itanium is dead now.

Longhorn wont support it. Intel dont make it. And nobody needs it.

I voted for AMD64 - Theyre brilliant systems and probably easiest port
