Re: Two decades later...what's the point?

I trust in Reactos and i trust of the lots of new young guys, that are keen on Reactos ! Fine, that the website got a modern "style", yes this update was great ! Think of that: the more skilled guys come, the faster Reactos will be "ready" ! 5 years is a good guess for beta, but let it be 10, so wha...

Re: Two decades later...what's the point?

I am indeed very surprised that countries like Russia and China didn't finance heavily ReactOS, to get quickly an open and independent OS ready, spyware free and binary compatible with Windows. A few millions $ and it would have been ready since years ago. An open OS binary compatible with Windows,...

Re: Two decades later...what's the point?

Give Reactos at most another decade...and it will "mess up" the world. Because a lot of users and even states like Iran, China, Russia e.g. will slowly integrate it in their environment. Not from today to tomorrow, but they will go the "reactos way". So no more "secret backdoors" in Windows, and I t...

Re: In the event Microsoft decides to open source Windows

In the event that Father Christmas is found at the North Pole I will start to believe that MS might just release Windows as open source. Then I shall start worrying about it but not until. Shall we have some other "what if" threads? What if Nazi Germany had coded Windows in 1943? Would the licence ...

Re: Your most wanted feature for the 2019 Hackfest?

My wish would be a full working USB Port and working sound on real hardware (at least one common sound chip)

the more important in my opinion ist SOUND

Why ?
Because of GAMES ! This could make ROS more famous, even when it's compatible with old DOS Games without emulator...

Re: ReactOS 0.4.9 released

I also follow this project over 8 years, and i must say there was done a lot in 8 years. Let's wait and see and be patient. Give developers may be another 8 years - and the version will be higher than 0.5 perhaps 0.9 or even 1.0 ! I am convinced that at some time 90% Windows compatibility will be ac...
