Re: Once ReactOS reaches the NT 5.2 goal, what's after?
I hope that you will eventually implement the backing store features of the aero interfaces, specially in the manner like that seven, that uses GPU memory instead of RAM. If cleverly implemented these can also save some CPU cycles spent to redraw and bring some work on the GPU... Interesting; once ...

Once ReactOS reaches the NT 5.2 goal, what's after?
Hiya!! This might be a bit soon (since ReactOS is still under heavy development), but I was just wondering: What are the goals of ReactOS once it reaches the NT 5.2 (Windows XP and 2003) goal? The next step should be NT 6.x (Windows Vista, Server 2008, and 7), but there are so many VASTLY different ...

Re: Cairo Shell
Well, incase anyone is still watching, Cairo shell has just gone open source: http://www.cairoshell.com/blog/2010/01/contribute-to-cairo-now-open-source/ You may have noticed that the development team has been quiet over the past few months since the release of M1.9. Unfortunately, we haven’t been a...

Re: Would these *free* downloads be of anyhelp to ROS developers
Well, it's not necessarily to take and use, rather take, analyze what they can offer, and perhaps hack something up for ROS.
Though, I do sometimes wonder what's the progress on the kernel and APIs going. The build reports don't tell us much on this ...

Would these *free* downloads be of anyhelp to ROS developers
Heya guys!! I've read around, and I ran into these: Microsoft Detours 2.1 (http://research.microsoft.com/sn/detours/ ) & Windows Research Kernel (http://www.microsoft.com/resources/sharedsource/windowsacademic/researchkernelkit.mspx ). I was just wondering if the ROS developers are able to take ...

Re: New system computer rating tool?
Nice to gauge the system to an extent ... But yes, should be more fully featured (as in more information centered than numbers): *should have years of the component (to gauge the future-proofness) *hardware *maintenance status (disk fragmentation, disk space, registry, etc.) *networking status (pack...

Re: Reactos-Mirror on Google ?
How about one on Codeplex (http://www.codeplex.com/) ? <-- I know, Microsoft maintained. But hey, mirror hear, discussions, etc., nice to have (though might not be active, nice to have another server hosting).
Perhaps one at SourceForge too (http://web.sourceforge.com/) ?

Re: Speaking on multi-platform theme support...(GTK/UXTheme/etc)
Well ... My original intention is that since ROS is still in the works, perhaps we can have some extra-flexible design/ themeing options. Sure, UXTheme support is great !! But ... Some people may just like KDE and/ or GNOME better. And some may even like the offerings of GTK. What I'm saying is, per...

Re: XP look-alike interface?
You know ... I realize: it isn't as much as looks, but the functionality behind it. Reason why I don't like classic is because there aren't any *quick links* to fav programs and stuff (you have to go to all programs, let it pane out, and select it). XP improves this a bit by dividing into sections t...

Re: XP look-alike interface?
Heya guys !! Personally, I agree with this: IMHO the best solution is to create flexible GUI with WXP, KDE, GNOME themes support, so everything would be able to adjust his environment (sorry for my english  ) Why not have all of them? Have ReactOS be able to manipulate Linux + uxtheme.dll style...
