Re: I just installed the bootcd on my Thinkpad T400
Everything seemed to go smoothly and everything, thus far works. I installed reactos-bootcd-0.4.15-dev-1605-gab45955-x86-gcc-lin-dbg.7z. I am dual booting with Ubuntu. I only have two issues I must resolve to move forward. I have no networking, and I need to get some realtek drivers for my ethernet...

Re: PS/2 mouse not found
I would like to obtain a debug log of the most recent revision proved to be working, usually there are almost any answer to hardware failures. If your machine doesn't has serial port, could you try to debug with text file by botting into ReactOS and then inmediately doing a clean shutdown (possible ...

Re: 0.4.13 on IBM T42, working with glitches
The crash log was saved automatically to the desktop and I copied that log to my flash drive. Where could I submit it? You must: a) indentify the misbehavior b) find a replication process c) submit a ticket in https://jira.reactos.org For example: a) logs stopped printing out with the last message ...

Re: 0.4.13 on IBM T42, working with glitches
...laptop does not have the COM/RS-232 port directly on its chassis. It is however accessible via the port replicator. I tried fetching debug information this way and it worked just fine... Well, that's a good start milestone, if you were able to fetch debug logs, maybe on these resides the answers...

Re: Is anyone working on a react os ide?
AFAIK, there is no live project to write an IDE for ReactOS, the only thing that exists is RosBE, but they are just command line tools to compile the code, but not tools to edit the code itself, on the other side, you could use Visual Studio as a default IDE to compile ReactOS

ReactOS Frugal Installation
One of the main features of Linux is the possibility of perform a Frugal Installation that take some of the advantages of a LiveCD running, but using the same resources from a HardDisk installation. As ReactOS evolves, it is possible to imitate this Linux feature. A common LiveCD directory scheme is...

Re: Would ReactOS work on these 2 barebones?
http://www.compactpc.com.tw/products/item/49 has good chances to be compatible, but someone should set an experiment to prove that I got an answer from the manufactuer and they said that http://www.compactpc.com.tw/products/item/49 (Vortex86MX) are closer to End-Of-Life, and http://www.compactpc.co...

Would ReactOS work on these 2 barebones?
Investigating for alternatives to Intel/AMD I found these interesting barebone machines: http://www.compactpc.com.tw/products/item/49 http://www.compactpc.com.tw/products/item/58 Both of them supports Windows Xp, so I guess should also support ReactOS and also their drivers. I am interested on buy o...

Re: Why is ReactOS based on a 17-year-old version of Windows?
Let's be clear: MS Windows is Coca Cola ReactOS is trying to recreate the same flavor but using known ingredients and recipes shared by others. Maybe Coca Cola improved the flavor in reclently years, but ReactCola is still in the attempt to get the flavor of 17 years ago, still doesn't taste the sam...

Re: [SOLVED]Is there a configuration where most things just work?
I should mention, I'm only interested in running alternate OSs on real hardware. I figure there are enough people running on VMs. I've been around since the early days when the project had a different name, so I've checked out various threads in the forums. I'd just never seen a 'just works' config...

Re: [SOLVED]Is there a configuration where most things just work?
Best thing you could do is to get a minimal linux (tinycore for example) and get all of your hardware working, then install QEMU, setup a VM and install ReactOS on it, it will run with the best tested hardware set which is the virtualized by QEMU, that means much less probabilities to get BSODs due ...
