Re: 3D Desktop

I actually saw it in the book "Just Say NO To Microsoft." If you want to look at it, here is the URL: http://www.sun.com/software/looking_glass/. For a demo: http://www.sun.com/software/looking_glass/demo.xml

Re: ReactOS in Bochs

I know. I've used QEMU on XP, and is AWESOME! I just wish that you would provide some other free virtualization software preloaded with ROS.

Re: ROS should take-over the missing Win32/Win9x flatform

I was actually thinking of starting a project like that and then merging the results into ReactOS.

Tell me what you think about this at fdwboy@gmail.com

Re: media player

I know that the two licenses are compatible. But i know that OO is Sun-funded. It is the free version of StarOffice.

Re: Live CD

Unless you find VMWare Player, you have to pay. And if you do find VMWare Player, they ask for some personal info like your email address.

Here is the URL:

Re: "React16" and "React98" concepts Viable?

I was actually wanting to do this myself. With SourceForge, it would be easy to start a project like that. Once it was complete, the files could be merged with ReactOS and then the project would just kind of die, since no one wants an OS without Win32 support. If i was going to do this, i would need...

Re: Why ReactX?

Another reason is that DX 10 is tied to Vista, you can't download it. If no ReactX, no DX 10.

Re: PortableROS

If the computer you're using is 9x-based, QEMU will not load. But, QEMU is not complete, so hopefully they will fix this.

Re: PortableROS

Download ROS in QEMU- no installation required. (But does require NT-based OS)

Re: Gaming

The problem is that DX is a MS thing, so it has to be written from scratch (search for ReactX to find out more about this)

Re: IMPORATANT! - Compatibility features ReactOS needs

The only thing I can think of is that the version of Firefox that you can download needs to have an open-source IE engine to render IE pages. With IE Tab on Windows, sites that need IE work great (but no auto-detect, must add to a list :( )

Re: media player

OpenOffice is Sun-funded. They might not like it that you took the media player out of OO and put it in ROS. If a media player is going to be included, it will probably be MPC. VLC has had security holes discovered lately.
