2. This forum has a lot of users
1+2=3. Why aren't there any advertisements on this forum to sponsor the ReactOS development?

Re: Best HP laptop for ReactOS
I wanted to add the HP Probook 4540s to the list (Which is NOT working).
But I couldn't, because reChapta V1 has been shutdown.

Re: File vs block caching
All I expect to happen if you added Block level cacheing: Bsod that Bsod's that Bsod's that Bsod's (Etc.) Why do you expect that? Based on what? Not impossible as in "third-party software can't do something about it". More like, impossible as in "you can't modify the internal working...

Re: File vs block caching
Impossible? I would say : try it. There are several products available. You only need 4Gb+ Free memory for it (I am running it on Windows 2016 HyperV production servers (on the host), one with 8Gb cache (4 VM's), one with 32 Gb cache (10 VM's)). Edit: And for "Scientific" evidence: This is...

File vs block caching
Windows has a File cache - works reasonable.
But I am now working with a block level cache in Windows. My old SATA disks suddenly perform like they are SSD's.
So my tip to make ReactOS better than Windows: implement a block level cache instead of a file cache.

Re: My specific reasons for wanting ReactOS:
After reading this: https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/what-is-windows-polaris/ where is stated that (although this is still speculation): There’s even talk of Win32 app functionality being removed, making it so anything not built using Microsoft’s UWP wouldn’t function. While it seems unlikely...

Re: roadmap and priorities
Yes, I like that. Why has nobody pointed out these pages when the first message in this thread came? For reference (might be handy to have those links on the reactos homepage - project state): 1. Missing functionality: https://www.reactos.org/wiki/Missing_ReactOS_Functionality 2. Version status http...

Re: roadmap and priorities
A quote from the wikipedia page of Windows NT 3.1 ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_NT_3.1 ): 250 programmers wrote 5.6 million lines of code; the development cost $150 million. In the last year of development, the team fixed more than 30,000 bugs. So 250 full time developers took 3 years to b...

Re: roadmap and priorities
What status of compatibility has ReactOS at this moment? I mean that it reports 5.2 or Windows 2003 SP2, but it is absolutely not compatible with it at the current state. The following versions of Windows NT existed: NT 3.1 NT 3.5 NT 3.51 NT 4.0 Windows 2000 (NT 5.0) Windows XP (NT 5.1) Windows 2003...

Re: I Really Want to See Success...But..
Last reaction on this thread. If the chap wanted the work seriously then he had the chance to create a bounty. He was never going to do that. He couldn't be bothered, I am fairly sure of that. He just wanted to rail against the ReactOS team not listening to him on this forum even when stated that th...

Re: I Really Want to See Success...But..
You're that same guy who was here a few months ago who was super impatient while lying about following the project for nearly a decade before asking for their profile to be deleted, aren't you? I do not know what you are pointing too ... About the time I follow reactOS: you can see when I became a ...

Re: I Really Want to See Success...But..
@oldman dizt3mp3r has succeeded to convince me that reactOS will fail (may be ever, when nobody even remembers Windows 2003, reactOS will become usable). He tells me I have to give a bounty using third party sites - that means that there is absolutely no organization whatsoever within the reactOS pr...

Re: I Really Want to See Success...But..
I follow this thread now for the last week and want to add some of my thoughts. First: this board is called: General discussion and feedback If the developers and ReactOS team are not reading then the phrase "and feedback" should be removed. Next some reactions on the statements of the ori...

As I can not edit the previous message:
One more point: When it is implemented, Hyper-V should be an official supported platform.
