Re: How about Open Windows Standard Base

I reckon that Reactos, Wine and Longene cannot imitate the Ms Win32 permanently. We should make a appropriate platform to attract the Win32 apps vendors to port and write apps for our products. OWSB is such platform which cut a lot of apps porting cost.

How about Open Windows Standard Base

Reactos, Wine, Longene and other relative open source projects should make Open Windows Standard Base. The Open Windows Standard Base, or OWSB, standardize the APIs, dlls and the filesystem hierarchy, etc, like the Linux Standard Base http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_Standard_Base The goal of OWSB...

Re: The Linux Unified Kernel

Could you be more specific about testing conditions? Especially, what platform do you use for testing? Is is opensourced? Available anywhere as source or at least binary? Is the binary pe or elf? I assume you are running this on ReactOS NT kernel, with stuff moved to kmode, thus its not a surprise ...

Re: The Linux Unified Kernel

Linux Unified Kernel team will release its crucial version, Longene 0.3, at the end of May. The new version will get rid of wineserver totally, and all the functionality will be implemented in the unified kernel modules instead. Ms office can run on Longene now, but there are many bugs.

Re: GIT

Would you like some wine or tea? As you know, LUK integrates Reactos, Wine and others projects' codes to add Win32 subsystem into linux kernel. So it admits Win32 programs run on linux, that is similar to Wine. Relavite to Wine, LUK runs in kernel space to supply the native win32 subsystem, it can e...

Re: GIT

I know how you feel Haos. It almost sounds like they are doing something like arwinss. Crazy I know. :P Though considering reactos doesn't install on 99.9%(reoccurring?) of pc's and only runs a majority of apps because of borrowed WINE code, I suppose we can't be too critical. To be honest i don't ...

Re: GIT

LUK project is short of hands. There are less than 10 people in LUK team. I hope Reactos's gays can help LUK. As far as I know, there are no gays in the reactos team .... bad luck. Maybe you could get some of the lesbians in the linux kernel team to help you?? hi,Ged. It's a typo patently. I had al...

Re: GIT

I don't find any windows software that can run on LUK but cannot run on WINE so far. LUK project is still in very alpha stage. LUK team mainly intends to enhance LUK's performence now. Developers are currently working on moving all functions of wineserver into kernel space (put wineserver to kernel ...
