Re: live CD not booted on eCafe-800 notebook
I don't think the graphics adapter supports Vesa modes, have you tried to start in VGA resolution?

Re: [feature request] Quick Key integration
I agree. Please also consider Windows hot keys (Windows key + "E" = explorer.exe etc.).
But I'm sure it's already on someone's list and will pop up "when we get there"

Re: Hardware hash Check?
- in case you presented, you have obviously fail to prepare for such hardware change. My fair shoot is that both machines had incompatible hdd controllers, loading drivers from first one in second machine caused your OS to crash. . Even in that case, a "repair install" can be performed fr...

Re: Clinging to Windows Classic
I've decided to stop wasting my time on this stupid forum. Going around in circles all the time. Nothing ever comes of it. It's just a shouting contest. Bye.billyswong wrote: ...I hope you will get what I mean this time.

Re: Clinging to Windows Classic
The "Classic" look only applies to Windows APPEARANCE not the actual Explorer shell FEATURES. You are mixing them up. If I switch to Classic in Vista, I still get the task-bar groupings and the Vista layout start menu.

Re: Clinging to Windows Classic
You haven't understood or read my post:
I was making the point that beneath the "slick" UI features of NT6+ are still the same "Classic" features. So even if new Microsoft UI bloat is not implemented in ROS, there will not be compatibility issues.

Re: Clinging to Windows Classic
..Start menu has changed. ("start > run > type the command" has become "start > just type the command") .... FAIL: t he bar in the start menu is Search Bar (=new feature, which might be implemented in ROS eventually; indexing service required). The Run option is still there, but...

Re: Clinging to Windows Classic
... A lot of people are saying that it's everything that Vista should've been...and it's only in the beta stages. what you're seeing is the MS promotional machine in action. "leaked" beta? yeah right. MS is fuelling a hype so Vista will be quickly forgotten Really, ReactOS will eventually...

Re: my take on the ReactOS Logo
I've found the logo for nuclear fusion. If you don't know what nuclear fusion is, I suggest you do some research; it could be the answer to human kind's energy needs in the long term. Therefore it symbolizes hope, future and innovation. Perhaps that logo could be used as basis for ReactOS. I don't ...

the mention of drm is incidental; it's one of the pillars of apple's strategy but not otherwise related to the artistic aspect under discussion here.Aape wrote:Wait, since when do we need to load our system with DRM if we want tasteful design? <.<

Re: CommandLine Icon concept
Besides, Tango is the equivalent to the stereotype of "Open Source has no artistic taste" to Carlos Mencia's stand-up :/ Ridiculous. Has nothing to do with taste. It's about competency. Just take a good look at some of the amateur submissions in this forum over the past year. You can NOT ...
