Re: OPTi 931 ISA sound cards...
ath9k is partially being written by Atheros' developers. I believe that makes it exactly the sort of situation we're talking about here =) Windows drivers being "tough to write" is a misnomer. The only reason they can be hard to write is that the hardware you typically write them for is un...

Re: OPTi 931 ISA sound cards...
Very few manufacturers open source drivers for one reason - support. They can't be held responsible for some random geek breaking the firmware on his SSD, bricking it, and then sending it back for replacement. They also do not have the money nor the patience to hire legal teams to fight when some ra...

Re: ReactOS 0.3.11 progress...
Yeah...I guess my problem was that I went and investigated nute's previous posts and they contain this same argument. I do subscribe to the philosophy of "write code or shut up" when dealing with trolls.

Re: ReactOS 0.3.11 progress...
nute, I don't think you understand. Either you write code to fix the bugs that are preventing the release, or you shut up. This is not commercial software where you pay for people to listen to your opinion. This is open source where trolls are scorned and only the noble survive. I don't know why you...

Re: ReactOS 0.3.11 progress...
I haven't posted in awhile... Both linux and windows are monolithic in kernel architecture. Now that that little fact is known, we can continue to try to explain how each architecture is superior to the other. I may be a cynic, but at least I'm not a hypocrite bashing other projects for doing exactl...

Regardless of what YOU, as an individual, think looks good, ReactOS isn't just for you. Anyways, good developers tend to think like this: Core first, features second. IE::ReactOS will not have a complex gui until it's stable with great program support. It'd be an incredible waste of time on both you...

Full Multiprocessor support.
I've been following this project for some time now, and one thing I would LOVE to see implemented is Multi processor support. If you developer guys need a machine to develop on, I'll have a quad processor(pentium 3 xeons) in about 3 days. I can give remote desktop access and can install any IDE's yo...
