Re: Storming the Bitcoin Industry
You can already donate to ReactOS using BitCoin. Neat, i hadn't noticed it. Leaving your computer overnight on... at what hardware and electricity costs? That's what i meant when i said it was a waste of time unless you invest in a mining rig. There is a certain point at which you'd be earning enou...

Re: Storming the Bitcoin Industry
I like BitCoin as a method of convenient and direct payment, but to me mining is a waste of time unless you seriously invest into a special rig. All mining is currently done on the GPU it rendered my PC useless while it was running. There's also the fact that the price of BitCoin fluctuates a lot. 1...

Re: You guys need to speed up the development of ReactOS
WINE doesn't do much of anything when you are a user from home who don't know too much about computers as it is. Not everyone in the world is a know-it-all nerd. Actually, i'm kind of annoyed at the whole "App store" fashion in which Ubuntu is set up. You click from a list of pre-approved...

Re: You guys need to speed up the development of ReactOS
I remember a few years ago on some forum, someone called ReactOS a "WINE that boots"... If you're not interested enough and don't check up on it much, you're bound to downplay any effort that went into it. Windows is an everpresent, nagging reminder that there are so many unfinished areas....

Re: Shell Development Contract
Awesome! Does this mean that explorer-new is finally going to work on ROS within 2-3 months?

Re: "Funded Development Issue Resolved"
We can always do another fundraiser - there sholdn't be any issues this time. Though it may be more encouraging to do it once we start getting results with last year's fundraiser money.vicmarcal wrote:A pity we don't have enough money to hire a full time dev

Re: "Funded Development Issue Resolved"
I'm glad this annoying issue has been dealt with, it has been stalling things since last year. I'm also excited over what the next round of funded development targets are going to be. Improvements on USB and Audio perhaps?

Re: [NEW FEATURE] ReactOS Blog
My only suggestion is to fix up the CSS on the front page a little bit. The "Blogs" title is too far down compared to the other two titles (Newsletters and News), and none of the font styles for those 3 sections match. Newsletters has a little separator at the title but the others don't, t...

Re: 0.4.0
Don't you hate it when people start making stupid suggestions about implementing linux stuff just because "it's already finished and is thus easier to port"... Why doesn't Linux support the Windows driver architecture and shell yet, i mean, it's already finished - why cant they just port i...

Re: rasberry pi
No, you need an ARM port for it to work, and the ARM version of ROS doesn't even boot to GUI yet. The Windows they're talking about is probably RT.

Re: Austrian Netidee: earn up to €50000
for example we got €700 from the Thomas Krenn AG in 2011. It's not much but I think every cent helps to push it a little bit forward. That's nice. Though with being rejected from so many contests, including GSoC again this year, it has been looking kinda hopeless. I'm also not sure how you can spin...
