Actually, drive compression was stolen from Stack-It, (which I bought
just prior to MSDOS 6.0, and immediately saw that both Stack-It and
drive compression used all the same commands), a company they then
bought in order to get out of the law suit. Most of what MS added to
MSDOS in the early days was the result of buying the competition or
stealing from them.
