" 1. So far it supports Windows 2000, XP x86/x64 and 2003 x86/x64 all
languages. Windows Vista will be supported as well.
I may be wrong here, but why not just say DOS or Fat32?"
Um, do you have any idea what nLite actully does?
It's designed to remove components from Windows pre-install, as
opposed to post-install. Filesystems and Ancient Operating Systems
mean nothing at all, nLite will run happily, be it on FAT16/FAT32 or
NTFS.
"2. It needs at least .NET Framework 1.1 in order to run it..."
Specific Runtime files (~4MB) are available to download from the site,
to fool nLite into thinking the .NET Framework is installed. And it
actually needs either 1.1 or 2.0 Beta 1/2.
Againsts the Interests of ROS? ROS is still Alpha Software, and thus
still in it's infancy.

FreeBSD is an interesting option for Unix-like-ness on a PC, with Cygwin and Win4Lin having their place too.
