[ros-general] EU and patents

Hi

Basically: the same as any other software! We will try and avoid
patents where possible (work-arounds), attempting to find prior art or
perhaps even trying to prove them bogus. This is an industry wide
problem - Microsoft is regularly bitten by this very problem
particularly because they have so much cash. We will just have to try
our best to handle the problem - just like everyone else.
