Software patents are not valid in most countries.
Freetype 2 patented features are disabled in ReactOS by default.
You can activate it by alter the build-time setting ReactOS located in
the config xml file; "NSWPAT" flag.
If you live in a country where software patents are valid/apply, don't
enable this (except you have purchased a license from the patent
owner).

Nevertheless the fonts should look fine with default settings. But it
may look better with all features enabled.
