The way I like to answer this question is tell me what you're good at 
and like to work with. So if you love making fonts, then we would love 
to have someone make fonts... if you love and are good at drivers, we'd 
love for someone to write some drivers...if you just wanna hang around 
and help out and fix bugs you find or implement little features that we 
might not need until 2006, that's also great. So it really depends on 
what you're willing and capable and enjoying in doing. Come on our 
channel on irc, server irc.freenode.net, channel #ros-dev, and we can 
discuss.
