Post by petr-akhlamov »

Hello. Recently, if i correctly understood, in ReactOS was started implementation of compatibility mode? If this so, i want to ask, developer, which works over this, will maintain a blog, as Gigagerz, when worked over shell? Thanks of Gigaherz's blog, i and many users learned about structure of shell and how it works.

ReactOS is compatibility. When ReactOS is released as a final version Win32 programs will run. NTVDM will run DOS programs. Windows drivers will function. This is partly the case now, see the EPIC WIN and the EPIC NTVDM thread.

I think you have mis-understood petr-akhlamov, he is talking about CORE-10375 Implement compatibility tab in explorer and CORE-10366 Provide application compatibility for non-complient apps. The links are in his post.
Please keep the Windows classic 9x/2000 look and feel.
The layman's guides - debugging - bug reporting - compiling - ISO remaster.
They may help you with a problem, so do have a look at them.

I thought they were unnecessary. I read them as that.

I assumed CORE-10375 and CORE-10366 were about giving ReactOS a feature equivalent to Microsoft Windows XP's compatibility mode.

I have no aspirations to write a blog.
