http://wubi.sourceforge.net/
i think reactos should allow the option to install using a method similer to wubi for linux
this would allow testing of it on real hardware with the exception of the hard drive and would let ppl test new builds in an envirment a lot clsoer to real hardware without messing up there windows install

wubi? heck I think Reactos should be able to be installed like Colinux..but instead of installing it in windows XP it should be able to be installed in any linux distro
I like how protable ubuntu works almost seamless opening linux apps like if they were windows apps, reactos would be a big hit if it could do that...

Re: Read this if you've found software useful to ReactOS
I was ready to talk about a program, but it's a 16-bits program in Pascal, GPL License version 2, It's called Calmira, a clone of the Windows 95/98/ME's shell, I tested it on Windows 3.11, it's like Windows NT and Calmira XP is a clone of the Windows XP/2003's shell, I know that it would be reject because it's in Pascal (we could transform it to C) and it's 16-bits program, I will try to test it on ReactOS (if 16-bits work), here is it: http://www.calmira.de/
EDIT: when I run the setup, I'm getting an empty error message box

I doubt this would be of any utility. Arcitecturally wise, there's a world between win 3.1 and windows NT.

Cool! Could you put some info about it into bug 5466?

it basicaly the same issue as you postedCool Could you put some info about it into bug 5466?
seen how Arwinss has better graphics I thought I could work there, but seems there is bug in the arwinss implementation that wont let Explorer++ open... will post pics soonComment #7 From Black_Fox 2010-11-29 23:08:44 CET -------
Explorer++ 1.2 now displays partially, very few controls work.

Seems like an issue allocating resources in memory manager. Its most likely a conflict in the Ros interruption... can you provide a log dump to the dev team...

PNotes - http://pnotes.sourceforge.net/
Opensource aplication written entirely in C and Windows API for adding "sticky notes" to the desktop. Works, but with drawing glitches. Since it's opensource and uses only the WinAPI, it may also be useful for debugging purposes.

http://www.jankratochvil.net/project/TraceFS/
This was very briefly discussed here in 2007, but maybe forgotten. Is this tool useful for ReactOS development?Project allows wrapping of Microsoft Windows Kernel API calls of your chosen kernel driver by your custom function code.
Although TraceFS was up to now used only for tracing of Windows NT Cache Manager it can be easily used ever for any other NT kernel API tracing. You need to provide appropriate function wrappers in the main source file. Framework for thread synchronizations and debug tracing is provided to prevent mangling of messages while running by multiple threads at once.

Re: Read this if you've found software useful to ReactOS
Yeah, it only works on regular ReactOS (sorta). Which is interesting, because it's usually Arwinss that has better compatibility! It's worth investigating.

It's worth saying again, Notepad2.
It's basically notepad, but has newline conversions.

The cake is a lie!
